Students are encouraged to participate in another science fair not associated with MSEF.  Since most of the rules are the same, MSEF participants may also choose to present at GNSEF. For information about GNSEF, visit

Wednesday, March 4, 2020:
MSEF Project Set Up at Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. A member of the Rules Committee will verify that your display meets the size and safety requirements. Allow up to 30 minutes to complete check-in, set up, and obtain Rules Committee approval for your display.

  • 4:00 – 6:30 PM (Senior and Junior Division)

Thursday, March 5, 2020:
MSEF Check-in at Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium

  • 7:15 – 7:45 AM (Senior Division)
  • 7:45 – 8:25 AM (Junior Division)

MSEF/NJAS Project Judging (no sponsors or parents permitted in display area until approximately noon

  • 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM at OHDZA Daugherty Education Center (Senior Division)
  • 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM at OHDZA Education Conference Center (adjacent to Scott Aquarium) (Junior Division)

Lunch is provided for MSEF participants
Public viewing begins

  • 12:00 PM (Senior and Junior Division)

Public viewing ends.  Participants move display boards

  • 1:30 PM (Senior and Junior Division)
  • 1:45 – 2:00 PM Departure to return to participants' schools

Invitations to Award Ceremony sent to award recipients and sponsors


Friday, March 13, 2020:
RSVP due for Awards Ceremony


Saturday, March 21, 2020:

  • 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Optional Display Set Up
  • 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Public viewing begins
  • 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Keynote and Awards Ceremony
  • 11:55 AM: Public viewing ends
